Nanocomposites Under Thermomechanical Loading

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Institute of Engineering Chemistry Bulgarian National Science Fund

This project was implemented with the financial support of Scientific Research Fund under contract № КП 06-Н57/3/15.11.2021

Project goals

The main objective of this project is to obtain new knowledge and results useful for future industrial applications on the optimal safety intervals and geometry of layered nanocomposites under thermo-mechanical loading, by conducting fundamental theoretical research, grouped in the following two clusters:

Cluster 1: Mathematical modelling of the behaviour of a layered nanocomposite under the thermo-mechanical loading and determination of the further causes for its delamination.

Objective: To conduct fundamental theoretical studies to analytically determine the stresses, strains and causes of delamination in a layered nanocomposite under thermo-mechanical loading.

Cluster 2: Determination of the optimal safe loads and geometry of a layered nanocomposite under thermomechanical loading.

Objective: Conducting fundamental theoretical studies on the simultaneous determination of the optimal safe intervals of external effects and the optimal geometry of a layered nanocomposite under thermomechanical loading.
